Goodwill’s Newest Program is Hitting the Road to Meet Job Seekers

May 5, 2022

On Friday, May 6th Goodwill will reveal their new program, Mission Mobile, to the public at their North Pleasantburg store location at 10 am.

Mission Mobile is an outreach of the organization’s 30 Job Connection sites. Just as a participant would receive job training tools, skills assessments, and more inside one of the brick and mortar Goodwill Job Connections, the same career services are being made available within a newly wrapped and fully loaded RV.

Come be among the very first in the state to tour this program on wheels. Every detail of Mission Mobile is designed to provide the best career services to communities throughout the Upstate and Midlands of South Carolina. It features laptop stations, printers, WiFi, wheelchair access and more.

“Over my nearly 30 years with Goodwill, the needs of job seekers and businesses have evolved over time. Goodwill is always looking for ways to adapt and meet those needs. Mission Mobile will allow us to make those services and opportunities more accessible to our neighbors across the state; that’s a good thing,” said Goodwill President and CEO Pat Michaels.

The lack of transportation options has long been cited by health and human service experts, employers, and community leaders as a barrier to accessing employment and education. That’s where the rubber meets the road for Goodwill and Mission Mobile – to meet people where they are and help change lives.
