Goodwill Rolls Out the Blue Carpet for Newest Program

May 6, 2022

This morning, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina unveiled its newest program, Mission Mobile, to an audience of over 40 people. President and CEO Pat Michaels welcomed attendees by sharing how Mission Mobile will travel throughout the Upstate and Midlands to provide job seekers with Job Connection services and opportunities at no cost. Whether it’s a first-time job seeker, someone looking for a career change, or even the next big promotion, Goodwill’s career services will help people take that leap.

The ribbon cutting featured a variety of Goodwill supporters, including SC Representative Patrick Haddon (Greenville), Regional Director for Congressman Jeff Duncan, Addie Patters, and District Director for Congressman William Timmons, Seth Blanton. Goodwill Board members Rick Cothran and Nancy Rice were also in attendance, along with Goodwill employees and supporters. All in attendance were able to tour the fully-loaded vehicle, which features laptop workstations, Wi-Fi, TVs, wheelchair access and more.

Mission Mobile is the first actively mobile unit in the State of South Carolina, and will meet people where they are - in communities, employer locations, non-profit centers, and many others throughout the Upstate and Midlands.

Mission Mobile is an outreach of Goodwill’s 30+ Job Connection sites, which are adjoined to many of Goodwill’s retail stores. Just as a participant would receive job training tools, skills assessments, and more inside of the brick and mortar Goodwill Job Connections, the same career services are being offered within the 30-foot, newly wrapped, and fully loaded vehicle.
