Goodwill Highlighting Minority-Owned Businesses with “Supplier Diversity Fair” in Columbia

October 13, 2022

On, Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) will host minority-owned employers and community resource groups for their Supplier Diversity Fair.  The event, held at Brookland Baptist Church in Columbia, seeks to highlight businesses who provide important services in the Midlands community.

The Supplier Diversity Fair is sponsored by GIUMSC’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee and will feature a variety of minority-owned vendors showcasing their services and products that GIUMSC frequently utilizes. The hope is this event will not only increase awareness for these local business leaders and their services, but highlight the significant contributions locally-owned businesses make toward creating thriving communities.

“Since 2017, our DEI-Employee Resource Group has focused on several meaningful projects to ensure equity among our associates, participants and vendors. This work expands beyond our Goodwill to support others in the Goodwill network, other local nonprofits and private businesses. We are excited by the impact we’ve had thus far, and the Supplier Diversity Fair is the next step in providing enriching opportunities to the community,” said Rachel Putman, Vice President of Mission and People for GIUMSC.

Some of the venders attending will be: Evans Counseling and Consulting, Perfect Printing, Your Name in Lights, LLC, Discover Secure Logistics, WAW’s Heating & Air, The Avenue Events & Design, LLC, and Carolina Film Studio.
