12 Days of Goodwill: Day 9

December 16, 2022

Day 9: Alexandra is an Assistant Manager at one of Goodwill’s Lexington-area retail stores. She joined the non-profit looking to advance her career after years working in the convenience store and food service industries. Alexandra says, since joining Goodwill, she’s had many opportunities to learn new skills and grow professionally, including participating in Goodwill’s Manager in Training program and Professional Development Series. “It means a lot to be given these opportunities to furthering education and learning valuable skills I can carry with me,” said Alexandra. “What I enjoy most is the family environment, and knowing we are helping people get back on their feet and back into the workforce.” Alexandra’s next goal is to become a Store Manager and earn her Bachelor’s Degree.
We place thousands of South Carolinians into meaningful employment and skills training programs each year. Just like for all of our associates and participants, Goodwill’s programs provide access to important resources to overcome barriers big and small. We are a locally owned and operated non-profit that – through your support – can continue to extend “Goodwill to all.” You can support our Goodwill by going to goodwillsc.org/give-online/, donating gently used goods at a donation center, or shopping in any one of our 40 retail stores or Auten’s Loft boutique.
