August 29, 2025

Goodwill has announced the grand opening drop-in for its new iNoVate Smart Lab, a cutting-edge hub for technology and career development. The community is invited to a special drop-in event on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Goodwill’s Fluor’s Golf for Greenville Youth and Family Services Center, located at 45 E. Main Street in Greenville.
The new lab, a significant addition to the Goodwill Innovation Institute, is designed to empower individuals with the skills needed to thrive in today’s in-demand tech fields. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 PM, where guests can celebrate this milestone and get a firsthand look at the future of innovation in South Carolina.
“This is more than just a new lab; it’s a launchpad for life-changing opportunities,” said Monique McDaniels, Goodwill Vice President of Community and Workforce Development. “The iNoVate Smart Lab represents our continued commitment to connecting people with innovative tools and resources that can transform lives. We are excited to see how this hub of creativity and skill development will empower individuals to pursue meaningful, in-demand careers across our state."
The iNoVate Smart Lab goes beyond traditional classroom learning, using a project-based approach to teach critical STEM skills. Participants will engage in collaborative, hands-on projects, taking real-world problems and gaining practical knowledge they can immediately apply into new careers. The lab’s flexible design, adaptable tools, and state-of-the-art technology create an immersive learning environment that mirrors the dynamic challenges of the modern workplace.
The new iNoVate Smart Lab was built in partnership with STEM U, whose expertise was integral to bring the innovative space to life.
During the event, attendees will have the chance to experience demonstrations, speak with instructors, and learn about the life-changing impact this program will have on the community and those searching for careers. Light refreshments will be provided.
