Goodwill Partners with Habitat for Humanity for Veterans Day Build in Columbia, SC
November 14, 2025
In honor of Veterans Day, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) is proud to announce its continued partnership with Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity for a special home build in Columbia. This build will benefit a widow of a U.S. veteran, making the second collaborative project between the two organizations in the region.
The build will take place on Tuesday, November 11, and will bring GIUMSC associates and partners to celebrate service and sustainable futures for those who have served our country.
“Veterans face unique challenges when they return to civilian life, and our goal is to walk alongside them every step of the way,” said Pat Michaels, President and CEO of GIUMSC. “Partnering with Habitat allows us to extend that support beyond the workplace – into the home. Together, we’re building more than houses; we’re building hope for the future.”
This partnership reflects GIUMSC’s ongoing commitment to empowering veterans as they transition to civilian life. Through specialized programs, career training, and support services, Goodwill helps veterans discover meaningful career paths to build stable, fulfilling lives.
“We are excited to honor the service of our veterans and the steadfast sacrifice of the spouses who stood watch at home. In partnership with Goodwill, we are proud to enhance the home of a Habitat homeowner and widow of a decorated veteran because a grateful community shows up, together,” said Moryah Jackson, Executive Director for Central SC Habitat for Humanity.
