Old jalopies rev our engine!

You’d be surprised how much good Goodwill gets out of old cars and boats. We accept all kinds of vehicles — even airplanes — and use the auction proceeds to fuel job training and career services programs in our community. You get a great tax deduction and we get that jalopy out of your driveway (and off your hands) for good.

Bad Wheels

They’re all valuable to Goodwill!

Does a donated vehicle have to run to be accepted?

Generally speaking, the better the condition of the vehicle, the more we’ll get when we sell it at auction. But even cars that don’t run (or can’t run) are still valuable to us. As the old adage goes: we don’t look gift vehicles under the hood!

How does donating work?

Donating a vehicle is as easy as 1-2-3-4.

  1. Fill out the online form, call us at 1.800.4DEDUCT or drop by a retail store to donate.
  2. A vehicle donation specialist will follow-up to confirm your donation.
  3. We schedule free pick up and towing on the agreed date and time.
  4. We give you two receipts for your taxes.
What’s there to do after I donate?

Once you sign over the car title, there’s just a bit of housekeeping. Take your donation receipt, tag and registration to the SCDMV to de-register your car. Once that’s done, cancel your insurance coverage on the vehicle.

Why donate a vehicle when it can be sold?

Selling a car often means having strangers come to your house or haggling with car salesman. The honest truth? Some cars aren’t worth it. Giving a vehicle to Goodwill is easy and it helps folks here in South Carolina. That’s a win-win in our book!
