GED

Goodwill helps those without a high school diploma to complete their education with the opportunity to earn an equivalency certificate. Enroll in the free GED course successfully to unlock better job options and higher earnings.

Program Details

Contact your local Job Connection for specifics.

Timeline to completion is based on the knowledge you’ve already mastered. That means how long it takes to earn your GED depends on the level of education you’ve attained.

Coursework covers basic concepts in four areas: math, science, social studies and language arts. For those who successfully complete the course and pass the exam, the state awards an HSE certificate indicating that your level of knowledge equals that of a high school graduate. GED and GED prep is available through the following Goodwill programs:

  • LifeLaunch
  • YouthBuild
  • Youth and Family Services Centers

GED Testing Requirements

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Cannot have a high school or equivalent diploma
  • Cannot be enrolled in high school or a high school graduate
  • Must be a resident of South Carolina

Location

  • Greenville
