Tech Academy
Gain the skills and knowledge essential to thrive in the ever-evolving realm of IT, networking, and cybersecurity. Our comprehensive training programs are designed to mold a new generation of adept professionals, equipped to build networks, protect digital assets, and confront emerging cyber threats head-on.
Participants gain access to important industry certifications, opening the door to new career opportunities like computer support/repair, help desk, network specialist and cybersecurity specialist.
Attend an Information Session and choose from these Tech Academy programs:
STEM U: Cybersecurity program offered through a SC-based institution in Columbia and hybrid, remote training offered in Greenville.
CISCO: Networking Essentials course offered through Stanly Community College in a hybrid-remote teaching format.
Skill Up: Cybersecurity and Data Analytics-related certification courses offered in partnership with IBM Skill Build.
IBM: Unlimited access to more than 1,000 catalogued courses offering badges that demonstrate understanding of various tech-related topics and skills.
HOPE Project Academy: Curricula that teaches different levels of vendor-neutral CompTIA certifications and guides participants through the hiring process and obtaining cybersecurity clearances for a more competitive edge in the tech industry.
Drone Pilot Program
Goodwill and AINautics have assembled a team of seasoned drone pilots who will share their extensive knowledge and real-world experience with participants at no cost.
The program, for ages 16 and older, includes a Drone Bootcamp that will prepare participants for the FAA 107 Part A exam by teaching the fundamentals of Federal Regulations, drone vocabulary, understanding how to obtain a remote pilot certification airspace classification, operating requirements, and weather reporting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age: 16
- No GED or previous experience/training required
- 9th Grade reading level and mathematics understanding (an assessment will be provided at a local Goodwill location)
NxLevel Business Accelerator
In partnership with Benedict College’s Women’s Business Center, Goodwill helps aspiring entrepreneurs take their business to the next level. The program, for those age 21 and older of any gender, accepts 10-15 participants.
Skills developed in the program:
- Business plan and capability statement development
- Funding and credit basics
- Leadership training
- Network building
Duration: Ten weeks
