David Gregg: Rebuilding with Trust and Determination

April 9, 2025

April is Second Chance Month, a time to recognize the power of redemption, renewal, and opportunity. At Goodwill, we believe in the potential of every individual to build a better future, no matter their past. David Gregg is a shining example of these qualities.

Not long ago, David Gregg faced an uncertain future. After serving time at Livesey Correctional Institution, he knew he needed support to rebuild his life. That’s when he found Goodwill’s Pathway Home program, a second chance designed to help individuals transition back into the workforce and community.

“The Pathway Home Adult Reentry Program has been a huge blessing,” David shares. “With the help of my career navigator and her team, I was able to get glasses, a job, and work essential skills. She helped me understand – it’s not what you have done, it’s what you are going to do.”

Thanks to the program, David landed a job as a mechanic, built a budget plan, and even got his driver’s license reinstated – an achievement that led to purchasing his own vehicle. Each step has brought him closer to self-sufficiency and stability.

But for David, the most valuable lesson was learning to look forward, not back. His guiding principle? “Without trust, you have nothing. With trust, you can do great things.”

Here’s to David on his exciting journey ahead of him.
