Update from Goodwill Regarding COVID-19
Friends of Goodwill,
Though COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) continues to impact our communities and the world, it is heartwarming – and humbling – to see people coming together to support each other. I see it firsthand in our associates, who are so committed to serving the people who need Goodwill, and in so many people who continue to provide support even in these uncertain times.
Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina (GIUMSC) continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of our associates and to assist people who are coming to us for help. Even during a time with so much uncertainty, I am proud to say that people are still finding jobs with GIUMSC’s assistance.
While we remain committed to continuing operations and services as long as we can safely do so, we are taking temporary action that allows us to continue to serve our associates and the community long-term.
Effective Thursday, March 26th, we will adjust hours of operation at our stores and Job Connections. We are doing our best to minimize the impact on our associates and on people in our community who need our services. For a list of store locations and current hours, click here. We will continue to follow guidance from health and governmental agencies and take recommended actions to maintain a safe and clean environment for our associates, donors, shoppers, and participants.
We are working diligently to make thoughtful decisions in the best interest of our associates and our community. We will continue to focus on our mission of helping people achieve independence through employment, and on doing our best to support our associates and the people we serve, keep them healthy and safe, and help them sustain their own families.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding through these critical and challenging times.
CEO, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina
