REENTRY WEEK ACTIVITIES AT GOODWILL HELP RETURNING CITIZENS FIND EMPLOYMENT
In coordination with National Reentry Week from April 23 - 27, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina will provide a variety of opportunities specifically to help people with backgrounds find employment.
Scheduled events include Resume Workshops, Resource Fairs, Hiring Events, and ServSafe® Certification Classes. Events will be held in the Upstate and the Midlands. All events are open to the public. With the exception of the ServSafe® certification, no appointment is required.
Though these activities are planned specifically for Reentry Week, Goodwill provides year-round assistance for returning citizens through its Goodwill Job Connection services, career training programs, and the GoodStart program in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Corrections.
Since 2016, National Reentry Week has raised awareness of the importance of successful reentry and promoted the resources and assistance available to help returning citizens. Placing returning citizens in steady employment that matches their abilities and needs is an important effort that helps ensure successful reentry into their communities.
Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina helps people become independent through education and training leading to employment. Last year, Goodwill placed 11,786 people into employment through its job training programs and Goodwill Job Connection services.
