GOODWILL ANNOUNCES NEW TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION PROGRAM: COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE (CDL)
Greenville, SC (June 29, 2018) – Job seekers now have an additional opportunity to participate in training and earn certification through Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina. Goodwill’s Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) certification program begins in July, offering an opportunity for individuals to access the education needed to start a career in the high-demand transportation industry.
The CDL training program will be offered initially in the Anderson/Oconee/Pickens area through Tri County Technical College. Classes will take place each month and will rotate between a 5-week day program and a 10-week evening program. The program will include classroom instruction and on-the-road training, with the opportunity to earn the CDL A license upon completion.
Goodwill will pay 50% of tuition costs, and each participant can apply for additional tuition assistance to cover remaining tuition costs. Goodwill will also cover or reimburse costs for the DMV permit, 10-year driving record, physical required by the Department of Transportation, drug screen, background check, and the CDL licensing expenses. In addition, Goodwill provides case management services, job placement assistance, and financial incentives for program completion and employment achievements.
