On Friday, August 31st at 9:00 am, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina will hold a Groundbreaking Celebration for its planned facility at the intersection of US-25 (Augusta Road) and Sandy Springs Road in Piedmont/Moonville.  The new location, scheduled to open in Spring 2019, will include a retail store, donation center, and Goodwill Job Connection.

The Moonville location will represent Goodwill’s 10th store location and 8th Goodwill Job Connection in Greenville County.  Goodwill Job Connections provide free assistance to help job seekers connect with potential employers and find permanent employment.  Services include access to resources like computers and the internet, fax machines, telephones, and job leads and referrals.  A trained employment specialist is on site to assist individuals with their job search.  Goodwill also provides job training services to help people gain the skills needed to become certified and begin careers in occupations such as Nurse Aide, CDL Driver, Food Service, and Retail.

“Last year, Goodwill was able to help 12,152 people find jobs,” says Patrick Michaels, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina.   “We look forward to increasing accessibility for job seekers in South Greenville and expanding the employment services available in Greenville County.”

Ken Betsch with Betsch Associates designed the facility, which will be built by Sherman Construction.

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina helps people become independent through education and training leading to employment.  Last year, Goodwill placed 12,152 people into employment through its job training programs and Goodwill Job Connection services.
