MISSION

The mission of South Carolina Vocations & Individual Advancement , Inc (SCVIA) is to serve individuals with severe disabilities and help them achieve independence and self sufficiency through employment.

PURPOSE

SCVIA’s goal is to acquire government-based contracts in partnership with National Institute for Severely Handicap (NISH) through the Ability One Program. The Ability One Program provides employment opportunities for people who are blind or have other severe disabilities in the manufacture and delivery of products and services to the federal government. SCVIA will be pursuing these contracts as they become available within our territory of the Upstate/Midlands of SC as it relates to custodial and grounds related services. We will also pursue product-based contracts as they also become available across the US. We look forward to the opportunity to work with those individuals that have a documented severe disability.

STATEMENT

SCVIA operates under Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands of South Carolina, INC. SCVIA welcomes the opportunity to work with other agencies that are looking to place individuals into employment with a documented severe disabling condition. SCVIA seeks to provide an opportunity for individuals to obtain economic self-sufficiency through gainful employment.
