November 8 , 2007 Grand Opening of Goodwill Store on Two Notch Road Set for November 16 th At 9:00 am on November 16 th, Goodwill will open the doors to its newest store location at 9630 Two Notch Road in Columbia. The 14,000 square foot facility, which includes a retail store and drive-thru donation center for the convenience of Goodwill donors, will employ 20 people. Revenues generated from the new store and Goodwill’s twenty-eight other retail locations across the Upstate and Midlands fund Goodwill’s job training and placement services. These services are geared toward helping people find success and independence through the power of work. Programs include paid training programs in specialties such as Retail/Customer Service, Food Service, Custodial, Packaging and Assembly, and Forklift Safety. Individuals can also receive assistance with their job search at Goodwill’s six “Job Connection” locations in the Upstate and Midlands, including the Job Connection at 1219 Laurel Street in Columbia. In the past year, Goodwill has provided services to over 10,000 people. The direct results of these services created an economic impact of over $36 million in the community. Goodwill currently has 28 store locations and 36 donation centers in the Upstate and Midlands of South Carolina. |
