October 31 , 2008 Goodwill Announces New Vice President of Retail Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina is pleased to announce John DeLoach as its new Vice President of Retail. DeLoach brings more than 35 years of retail experience to Goodwill, including senior level responsibilities at Fine’s Men’s Store and S&K Famous Brands. His responsibilities will include the operations of Goodwill’s 26 retail stores and 35 donation centers. DeLoach is a native of Columbia, SC, where he graduated from Eau Claire High School and later attended the University of South Carolina. He also served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. DeLoach is excited to have the opportunity to help others in the community through the work of Goodwill. “The mission of Goodwill and my personal beliefs are very similar,” says DeLoach. “My rewards come from showing people how to advance their situations; I make it a priority to make a difference in someone’s life every day.” Goodwill has 26 retail locations and 35 donation center locations throughout the Upstate and Midlands of South Carolina. Revenues generated by the sale of donated merchandise in Goodwill’s retail stores support Goodwill’s job training and placement programs that help people become independent citizens in our community. In the past year, Goodwill assisted 16,270 people in their quest for independence and created a potential economic impact of over $48.4 million through the wages of the 2,897 people placed into employment.
