Goodwill Named a “ Best Place to Work in South Carolina”
On October 3 rd, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina, headquartered in Greenville, SC, was honored to be named one of the Top Twenty “Best Places to Work in South Carolina”. Goodwill ranked “#8” in the Large Company category, which includes companies with 250 employees or more.
The rankings were determined by a two-part process administered by the Best Companies Group. An employer questionnaire gathered pertinent information on the company’s practices, policies, benefits, and demographical information, while a random survey collected thoughts directly from employees on their personal satisfaction with their job, work environment, and the company as a whole.
Among the reasons Goodwill was chosen as a “ Best Place to Work” is its commitment to safety in the workplace and the hire of a corporate trainer dedicated to the education and development of its employees. Employees indicated a strong belief that Goodwill actively contributes and makes a difference in the community, and felt that they as individuals were important to the success of the organization.
Goodwill also provides a competitive compensation plan, including health and dental benefits, paid holidays and vacation time, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan with a generous company match.
The “Best Places to Work in South Carolina” were announced on October 3 rd at a celebration dinner attended by representatives from the Top 20 companies and sponsors. Tim Timmons from the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Grady Johnson from the Charleston Business Journal presented the awards.
