On Thursday, August 13, 2009, at 12:30 pm, Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands SC will host a graduation ceremony at its main office on Haywood Road for the second class of participants in Goodwill’s new Nursing Assistant Training Program. These nine individuals have successfully completed classroom and supervised clinical training in the fundamentals of safe and knowledgeable care giving. The training program also features instruction in Work Readiness Skills.
Goodwill graduated its first class of six Nursing Assistants in April 2009. Five of the six graduates have already been placed into competitive employment. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may readily find work in this high-demand, high-growth field, securing jobs in hospitals, long-term care facilities (nursing homes), care homes, private homes, adult day cares and clinics.
Goodwill Industries began offering a Nursing Assistant Training Program in partnership with Advance Nursing Education Center in February 2009. The program is focused on preparing students for the state certification exam, as well as on providing job skills and developing the attitudes and behaviors necessary for students to become competent caregivers.
