Runners to Test Their Skill at the 5th Annual St. Francis Mud Run

Over 2,000 runners are expected to test their skills on a Marine style mud and guts obstacle course through the Donaldson center on Saturday, May 2, 2009 to support the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program and Goodwill Industries.  The St. Francis Mud Run is a four mile stretch of land covering wooded terrain, creek beds and fields run by teams of four.  It includes thirty-four obstacles such as rope walls, cargo nets, rock walls, low crawls, rope swings, climbing walls and mud pits.  The course requires running, jumping, climbing, slogging, sloshing, crawling and raw determination!

“This year we are expecting over 450 teams (of four) to participate in the Mud Run.”  said event coordinator Tony Liller.   “The Mud Run is an event for people of all athletic levels; we have teams that want to win it all and teams that just want to have fun with family and friend.”

In addition to the 4 mile course there will be a quarter mile course designed for children 4 years old and above.  The course includes climbing walls, rope crawls, rope swings, and lots of water and mud.

Cost to participate in the Mud Run is $100 for a four person team.  For more information about the event please visit www.t4tchallengerun.com or call (864) 420-0969.
