CERTIFIED MANUFACTURING PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN - ANDERSON AREA

The Certified Manufacturing Production Technican program prepares participants for qualification by the Manufacturing Skill Standards Certification (MSSC). The certificate program develops a core understanding of the key work activities and basic technical knowledge and skills needed in high performance manufacturing. The curriculum includes 140 hours of instruction in four key areas: Safety, Quality Practices and Measurements, Manufacturing Processes and Production, and Maintenance Awareness.

Work Readiness Curriculum: 24 hours (4 days)
Certified Manufacturing Production Technician Class: 8 weeks (8am - 12pm, Monday - Friday)
Student must pay a non-refundable administration fee of $25.00 when registering.

  • Curriculum Materials

The following are requirements in order to be considered for participation in the program. 

  • Clean Criminal Background
  • Participant must be at least eighteen years old
  • Lift up to 70 pounds 
  • Stand for long durations
  • Minimal visual and hearing limitations
  • Negative Drug Screen
  • WorkKeys (Silver Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or GED

Upon acceptance into the program, participants must attend orientation and successfully complete work readiness curriculum before beginning skills training.

Goodwill Industries reserves the right to make the final selection on all clients/students due to the limited space in the training program.

What is an average class size? Twelve people.

What type of certification will I receive? After completing and obtaining a passing score on the examinations for all of the four modules, participants can obtain the Manufacturing Skill Standards Certification (MSSC).

What does the classroom curriculum involve? The classroom curriculum includes four modules: Safety, Quality Practices and Measurements, Manufacturing Processes and Production, and Maintenance Awareness. Each module is two weeks and culminates with a test for the curriculum topic. Each module stands alone; therefore, participants must pass all four modules to successfully complete the course and obtain MSSC.

Am I guaranteed a job upon completion? Goodwill will provide you with assistance in your job search, including access to its Job Connection resources and personalized guidance from a Case Manager, but employment is not guaranteed.  

Where is the training? Work Readiness and class curriculum will take place at Tri-Country Technical College's Pendleton Campus.

What do we learn in Work Readiness training?  Resume development, professionalism in the workplace, mock interviews, work ethics, basic computer skills, communications, and financial management.
