Job Training and Placement Services

We believe in the power of work. We have witnessed its power to transform lives. Work helps build self-confidence, friendship, creativity, empowerment, trust, and independence.

The true benefit of work is much more than a steady paycheck. In truth, each moment of purposeful work contributes to a greater sense of self and a more fulfilled life.

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina fulfills its mission of helping people achieve their full potential through the dignity and power of work by providing job training and career services. Last year, Goodwill served 32,041 people and placed 6,102 people into full-time employment, giving them an opportunity to become self-sufficient citizens in the community.

Job training and placement programs available include:

Goodwill Job Connections

Direct placement services connecting job seekers with employers. Services include: job leads and referrals, computer/internet access for online job searches and applications, and resume development.

Employment Training Programs

Career training opportunities, including work experience and/or curriculum, are available in these programs: Certified Nurse Aide, Retail, Food Service, and Manufacturing Skills Standard Certification.

Goodwill Real Achievement Training Initiative For Youth (GRATIFY)

Goodwill's GRATIFY program provides the intensive case management and additional support services to develop solid work ethic and work ready knowledge for ages 18-21 who want to become productive and successful adults in the community.

Through SCSEP, participants can leverage the service they provide their communities to upgrade their skills and pursue new job opportunities.
