Goodwill Industries provides citizens of the Upstate and the Midlands an opportunity to assist in our important mission to help people with disabilities and other special needs become independent citizens. Goodwill’s purpose is not merely to provide a chance, but to offer disadvantaged individuals an opportunity and a means to achieve self-sufficiency…and a foundation for self-worth.
The service of dedicated volunteers will enhance the work of Goodwill and help cultivate an atmosphere of acceptance for the individuals we serve, further breaking down the barriers to seclusion in society. In turn, members of the community who volunteer their time will reap the immeasurable benefits that are the rewards of service, compassion in action.
Age Requirements: Volunteers should be at least 18 years of age. School, church and corporate groups may volunteer at the discretion of the store manager and volunteer coordinator.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Customer Service Assistants for our retail stores
Donation Center Assistants during the month of December
Special events – St. Francis Mud Run (first Saturday in May), Big Dig construction theme park (September)
Clerical office assistance at our Haywood corporate office location (as needed)
Goodwill Costumed Mascot Appearances (as needed)
